Who was he?: Hitler was an Austrian boy who had a dream of being an artist. He became interested in politics along the way and the Nazi party soon accumilated a following of 56,000 people by 1923. Hitler was so passionate about his politics, on 8th/9th November 1923 he staged a protest that resulted in a prison sentence. Once released from prison, Hitler became chancellor for Germany on 30th January 1933, after coming second in the presidential elections the previous year. By this time the Nazi party had 5.6 milion votes. Most famously, he used his power in attempt to eradicate the Jewish people. He also invaded and occupied a number of different countries.

Who was he?: Churchill was born into a family with rich ancestors. He did not achieve excellent results at school, therefore he joined the Royal Cavalry in 1895. Whilst being a soldier and part time journalist, he travelled often all over the world. His first stand in parliament was as a Conservative MP in 1900, four years later changing to the Liberal party, progressing up the scale. He later resigned from this stint in parliament, going to fight on the Western Front. Returning and progressing again in 1924, he was chosen to step up as Prime Minister after Neville Chamberlain's resignation in 1940. Churchill was voted a second term as Prime Minister, however concerns grew for his welfare, until his death.

Who was he?: Chamberlain was born into a political family and was educated at a private school in Birmingham. When he turned twenty one, he ventured to the Bahamas to watch over a 20,000 acre property estate.
When he returned he became the leading manufacturer in Birmingham and by 1911 he was Councillor and Lord Mayor in 1915. In 1916, David Lloyd George, the prime minister at the time, appointed Chamberlain as Director General of the Department of National Service. He later progressed up to Conservative MP in 1918 and in May 1937 he became Prime Minister.
As war was looking inevitable, Neville Chamberlain met Adolf Hitler in Munich in 1938 to make an agreement of peace. However Hitler didnt cooperate and invaded Poland, resulting in England declaring war on Germany on September 3rd 1939.
Chamberlain later resigned as Prime Minister in May 1940.
